Timorasso. Renaissance of a fantastic wine
The story of Timorasso starts in 1300, with an enough known popular white wine, produced in the hills around Tortona, but not very appreciated, and bit by bit forgotten and then abandoned. During last years of XX century, Timorasso wine was rediscovered, just like someone could read on the newspapers, about someone that discovers a masterpiece of a great painter in an antiques roadshow.
Replanted and produced by a little number of vine growers, today Timorasso has become an interesting phenomenon and now is considered the most important Italian white wine. Indeed we talk about a white wine out of the ordinary schemes of the consumers, used to white wines, poor in the alcoholic gradation and served well fresh, rather cold, and therefore with a whole of impoverished feelings.
Timorasso is a well structured wine, but very polish and philosophically competitive with the best French wines, We can properly say that Timorasso is a white/red wine, for his traits and for the pattern of consumption. Just by his nature Timorasso holds up the aging up to 10/12 years, with a charming evolution, with no doubts, that gives us some freshness and really amazing feelings.
The Timorasso is a fully-fletched rare wine because of the small production area, on the Tortona hills and surrounding valleys, and the limited number of the producers, therefore it deserves to be known in the deep, being well focused on his current nuances and also waiting for a perfect aging in the future.
