MARAGLIANO. The carved Baroque

In the churches and parishes of Genova and several cities and villages in Riviera Ligure and piedmontese hinterland (Ovada and surrounding villages)  you find the masterpieces by Anton Maria Maragliano (1664-1739).

The Baroque Art of Maragliano is about  beautiful Crucifix Christs and statues wooden carved and named “casse” (boxes), to be carried in processions on feast days.
